SignalFire Launches PowerPAK – On-Demand Power Source for Field Instrumentation

SignalFire Wireless Telemetry, the fastest growing producer of industrial wireless telemetry, announces the release of PowerPAK, an innovative On-Demand power source to power localized field instrumentation. This battery-powered device is enclosed in a compact IP64 rated enclosure and is available for Class I Div II applications and supplies the required field instrument power to remote mounted or stranded devices. On-time power interval is selectable for 1, 2, 5 or 10 minutes or always on and a convenient on-demand push-for-power button. Long-life batteries are easy to replace and provides 4mA power for an estimated 350 hours of on-time. PowerPak mounts to the instruments and is universal, working with any device from any supplier.  The PowerPak is available for immediate shipment.

The PowerPAK addresses the need for localized instrument power for new or existing applications where power may not be readily available. The device is easy to install and requires no software to setup. Configured by simple dip switches, the power-on interval is designed to provide flexibility of operation and extended battery life. PowerPAK powers a 4-20mA field device and an optional loop-powered external display to access readings from remote mounted, difficult to reach measurements.

“The new PowerPAK quickly delivers the required field instrument power where there is no power. Developed to meet customer’s needs for quick, localized power, the PowerPAK battery-power power source is flexible, rugged, cost-effective and easy to install and use.” says Sandro Esposito, VP Sales and Marketing. “Powering either 2-wire or wireless instruments, PowerPAK is your best universal option for localized power.”
