SignalFire Announces the New TiltSCOUT

SIGNALFIRE ANNOUNCES THE NEW TILTSCOUT

WIRELESS ANGLE MONITOR FOR TANK HATCH AND PUMP JACK MONITORING

SignalFire introduces a new intrinsically safe wireless inclinometer for tank hatch, vault access, and pump jack monitoring called the TiltSCOUT.  The patent-pending wireless inclinometer helps mitigate environmental and safety risks associated with accidental emissions from tanks by monitoring the position status of a hatch using an accelerometer that measures the angle.   With feedback from the TiltSCOUT, operators can determine if a tank hatch is closed, cracked or open and quickly resolve the situation to avoid environmental emissions and unsafe gas emissions around the tank.

When operating in a pump jack mode, the TiltSCOUT detects pump up-and down-motion to verify operations and report on/off events so operators can quickly resolve issues if a pump unexpectedly stops. As an inclinometer, the TiltSCOUT also serves a variety of applications with a need to detect an angle from the horizontal.

Operating as a standard wireless node in the SignalFire Remote Sensing System, the TiltSCOUT wirelessly reports information to a central gateway that transmits the data to a control center for remote monitoring.  Modbus or digital alarming will be available at the gateway.  This maintenance-free, non-contacting sensor will incorporate a 900mHz radio and antenna for long-range data transmissions (up to ½ mile) and have a battery life of more than five years

Featuring a small footprint and simple design, angle sensor is easy to install through magnetic mounting and calibrated through a local push-button. Besides, the product is capable for use in Class 1 Division 1 hazardous locations (pending).
